Glossary
Plain-language definitions of the terms these recipes use. It grows as the bundle does.
- Fair housing — the law that bars discrimination in housing. In practice, it means your copy describes the home, never the ideal buyer, and avoids language tied to race, religion, family status, disability, or other protected classes.
- MLS — the Multiple Listing Service, the shared database agents use to list and find properties. Each MLS has its own rules for what a listing can say.
- FSBO — "for sale by owner," a seller marketing a home without an agent.
- Expired listing — a listing whose contract ran out before the home sold. A common prospecting target.
- Farming — marketing consistently to one neighborhood or group to become the agent people there think of first.
- Sphere of influence — the people who already know you (past clients, friends, contacts) and are your warmest source of referrals.
- Contingency — a condition in an offer that must be met for the sale to go through, such as financing, inspection, or appraisal.
- Demo-first — how these pages are built: the value is a prompt you run, shown with a real before-and-after, not a cited essay.
